Oizumi City 大泉市
Oizumi (大泉市) is a Japanese city located in the southeast of Gunma Prefecture and the most populous, considered an important industrial center, located in the district of Oura. The municipality became one of the main destinations for Brazilians in the early 1990s, during the migration of the dekassegui.
With a population of 41.987 inhab., including about 7.977 foreign citizens, 4.595 Brazilians, 1.030 Peruvians, 247 Philippines, 153 Chinese, 436 Nepal, 320 Vietnam, 185 Indonesia, 142 Cambodia, 129 India and others (prefecture data).
Oizumi developed intensively on the banks of the Otone River, which flows into the ocean, and became one of the main industrial cities in the prefecture, especially with the promotion of modern industry.
