50-year-old Chinese woman arrested on suspicion of stealing vegetables

CBC News reported on July 20 that a 50-year-old Chinese woman was arrested on suspicion of stealing vegetables from a couple’s plantation in Aichi Prefecture.

In Japan, many Japanese people use their land to plant crops, for use or sales, the removal of vegetables by others is considered theft.

According to investigators, the woman is suspected of stealing about 500 grams of Moroheiya from the couple in Kita-ku, Nagoya, around 6:30 pm on the 18th.
