Nanohana – Rapeseed Flower

Rapeseed (菜の花なのはな) is the name of a plant of the Bracicaceae family, of the Brassica genus, from whose seeds rapeseed oil is extracted, also used in the production of biodiesel. In the year 2000 rapeseed was the 3rd source of vegetable oil, after soy and palm.

The aroma can be felt anywhere. The rapeseed, already in full bloom (mid-January to late March), flaunts its beauty as if it were a sea of gold that turns some cities into Mecca for photographers and tourists.
