Togo │ 東 郷 町

Togo (東 郷 町) is a city located between Nagoya and Toyota in Aichi Prefecture. With a population of 44.118 inhab., including about 920 foreign citizens, 157 of whom are Brazilians.

Moriwa and Haruki villages were established in Aichi district, with the establishment of the modern township system in October 1889. The city’s villages merged in May 1906 to form Togo Village. It was elevated to city status on April 1, 1970.

The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. September is the rainiest month. Temperatures are highest in August reaching 28°C, and the lowest in January reaching a low of 4°C.
