Takahama City │ 高浜市

Takahama (高浜市) is a city located in the southwestern part of Mikawa Plain in Aichi Prefecture, it is located almost in central Japan and is 25 kilometers southeast of Nagoya City. Takahama Village was created in Hekikai District in October 1889. It was raised to village status in July 1900 and annexed to the neighboring villages of Yoshihama and Takatori in May 1906. Takahama was raised to city status on December 1, 1970, at which point the Hekikai District ceased to exist.

The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. September is the wettest month of the year. Temperatures are highest in August at around 28°C, and lowest in January at around 4.5°C.
