Higashiomi City │ 東 近 江 市

Higashiomi (東 近 江 市) is a Japanese city located in Shiga Province. Higashiomi was founded in February 2005 from the merger of the ancient city of Yokaichi, Eigenji, Gokasho, Aito and Koto. And in January 2006 the cities of Notogawa and Gamo were merged into Higashiomi.

 

With a population of 113.783 inhabitants, including about 3.206 foreign citizens, 1.837 Brazilians, 161 Peruvians, 18 Bolivia, 10 Paraguay, 6 Venezuela, 13 Americans, 435 Chinese, 269 Philippines, 238 Koreans, 54 Thais, 12 Vietnam, 10 Nepal , 55 Indonesia and others (City Hall data).
