57-year-old Brazilian woman was arrested for fleeing an accident after running over a university student on a bicycle

A 57-year-old Brazilian temporary worker was driving a light passenger car without a driver’s license at a road intersection in the city of Matsumoto and collided with the bicycle of a 20-year-old university student and fled without providing assistance.

The college student suffered injuries, including a bruise on her left leg.

Police identified the woman’s car based on witness statements and found it about an hour later. When they questioned her, they discovered that she did not have a license.

Hao Aparecida Sunae, 57, a Brazilian citizen and temporary worker from Yokota, Matsumoto City (Nagano), was arrested for causing injury by driving negligently without a driver’s license. The Brazilian admitted the charge of being run over.
