Asahi Waterfall in Izu City

Asahi Falls is located in Izu City and has a drop of 105 meters. It got its name because it glows when the sun rises directly in front of it.

The waterfall’s water flows over rocks formed by cooled and solidified lava, and the area has been designated as a geosite by the Izu Peninsula Geopark.

There is a staircase that leads to a viewpoint from where you can enjoy this beautiful waterfall up close.

This is a place where you can see beautiful autumn leaves every year from early to mid-December.

To make the waterfall even more beautiful and unique, spotlights were installed to illuminate the waterfall and the surrounding autumn leaves, and the lighting starts at sunset and goes until 9 pm.
