Filipino arrested for attempted murder in Obu city

38-year-old Filipino Santos Robbie sentenced to 25 years in prison for hitting a person in the head with a hammer.

In May of last year, in the city of Obu, Filipino Santos Robbie, a resident of the city of Nishio, was arrested on the 29th for the attempted murder (robbery) of his former boss to avoid paying debts.

According to the investigation, Santos repeatedly hit the head of former boss Asahi Sakano in May of last year (34 years old at the time), in an attempt to avoid paying his debt, leaving him seriously injured. He also hit the head of Mr. Sakano’s mother, who ran at the noise and injured her.

At the January 29 trial, Nagoya District Court Judge Satoshi Miyamoto said:

Mr Sakano suffered an assassination attempt and was seriously injured, leaving as a skull fracture he will have to live with the help of others for the rest of his life. That’s why he declares 25 years in prison.
