Hydrangea Festival at Tsukimi no Mori Park

Every year in June, more than 10,000 Hydrangeas (Ajisai) are in full bloom in Tsukimi no Mori Park (月見の森), Kaizu City, Gifu Prefecture.

This month you can smell the beginning of summer. Furthermore, it is lit up at night to create a fantastic atmosphere.

Inside the park there is a 200 meter high Observatory called Tsukimidai (Moon Square), which has this name because it is considered one of the 100 best places to observe the moon and a beautiful view during the day. But to get to the observatory you need to climb 258 steps.
