Kariya City celebrates its annual Sakura Festival from late March to mid-April. Kijo Park, the site of the Kariya Castle ruins, is one of the best spots for cherry blossom viewing. Not only during the day, but when the sun sets, around 400 cherry blossoms stand out in stunning light under the dim lighting of the park.
You can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night while strolling and eating at the stalls (Saturdays and Sundays there are several stalls).
