Meiji-Mura Museum New Year’s Eve Illumination

Every year from November to January, a beautiful lighting season takes place at the Meiji Village theme park museum located in Inuyama City, Achi.
You will see historic houses and buildings surrounded by colorful lights, which make the landscape stunning.

Some buildings, such as St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, feature projections and are themed around Winter Christmas and Japanese New Year. Streets lit up with Japanese umbrellas and a fantastic garden of colorful lights in various colors and shapes.

You can also enjoy a lighted musical show at the former Imperial Hotel, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. A colorful LED light show accompanies the musical rhythms, forming swirls around the old hotel area.

  • Lighting Date: every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from early November to mid-January.
  • Admission Fee: Adult 1,000 yen / Children up to 18 years old 500 yen.
  • Opening hours: from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
  • Location: Meiji-Mura Museum – Inuyama – Aichi.
