Momiji Corridor Lake Kawaguchi

Every year, the Minamitsuru District Lake Kawaguchi Autumn Leaves Festival (red leaves) is held in the area around the lake from early to late November in Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi.

Tourists can enjoy a beautiful view of the Momiji Corridor (tunnel) at an altitude of 830 meters on Lake Kawaguchi every day from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and at night the tunnel is illuminated from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

There are approximately 60 giant maple trees that line a length of 150 meters creating a tunnel of wonderful autumn leaves.

It’s a popular spot to see the fall foliage leaving visitors dazzled and delighted.

Japanese and foreigners from all over Japan come to Lake Kawaguchi to see this beautiful landscape of the Momiji leaves with Mount Fuji projected in the background, an unmissable spectacle.

From the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, you can see Mount Fuji across the lake, so that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of red autumn leaves from anywhere.

Night is a magical time when the lights come on and blend in with the red leaves.
