Mount Miyaji Viewpoint in Toyokawa City

Mount Miyaji (Miyazi) is located in the western part of Toyokawa City, at an altitude of 361 meters. From the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of Toyokawa City, Toyohashi City, Tahara City, Mikawa Bay, the Eastern Mikawa Plain, the Chibi Peninsula, and on clear days, it’s even possible to see Mount Fuji.

At the top, there is a monument in homage to the “Sacred Site of Miyazakiyama”. Standing 2.7 meters tall and weighing approximately 3,400 kg, the monument is known as the “Dankin Stone” and was erected in 1916.

Benches have been installed at the viewpoint so that visitors can admire the scenery or have a picnic. Additionally, on New Year’s Eve, many people climb up there to watch the sunrise.

To climb Mount Miyaji, there are several trails, so if you are visiting for the first time, we recommend using the parking lot with restrooms, and from there it only takes about 17 minutes to reach the top.

The hiking trails are maintained by local residents, making it a great place for families to enjoy peaceful walks.

The parking lot gets crowded during Koabura’s azalea season, from May to June, and during the fall foliage season in November.
