Player Ademilson do Gama is investigated for driving while intoxicated and causing an accident

26-year-old Brazilian striker Ademilson from J1 football (Gamba Osaka) is being investigated by police for driving while intoxicated, causing an accident.

According to Gamba, Ademilson had an accident while driving on the Kinki Expressway in Ibaraki, Osaka at around 8:30 on the 25th, but he participated in team practice. That means he went straight to the clubhouse and above-standard alcohol was detected.

Although no one was injured, he is suspected of driving while intoxicated and violating the obligation to report the accident.

Ademilson played 21 games this season, his sixth year in Japan, and scored the team’s first six goals, scoring the final goal just before the end of the match against Kashiwa Reisol on the 24th.

At a press conference on the evening of the 26th, Gamba Osaka president Tadashi Ono apologized for the accident of player Ademilson and explained the circumstances.

The player drank all night in various bars and clubs until around 8am and had an accident around 8:30am, and he is being investigated by the police on suspicion of drunk driving.

Ademilson said: I had a big shock, but I didn’t realize I had hit a car. That means he admitted.
