Seto City 瀬 戸 市

Seto (瀬 戸 市) is a city located in Aichi Prefecture, 20 km from Nagoya Capipal. It was granted city status on October 1, 1929, with a population of 129.326, including about 3.990 foreign nationals, 769 Brazilians, 539 Peruvians, 810 Koreans, 448 Chinese, 661 Filipinos and others (data from City Hall).

The total area was 111.40 square kilometers and it is located in the northern mountainous region of the prefecture and borders Gifu Prefecture. It is a mountainous area with an altitude of 100 to 300 m, and the southwest side is flat land.

The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. September is the rainiest month. Temperatures are highest in August at around 27°C, and lowest in January at around 3°C.
