Tahara City 田原市

Tahara (田原) is a Japanese city located in Aichi Prefecture. With a total area of 191.12 square kilometers, it occupies most of the mountainous Atsumi Peninsula. Tahara was elevated to city status in October 1892.

With a total population of 60.835 inhab., including about 1.575 foreign citizens (male 411 / female 1.164), with 36 Brazilians, 11 Peruvians, 5 Americans, 595 Chinese, 317 Philippines, 45 Koreans, 224 Vietnam, 55 Thailand, 99 Indonesia , 8 Nepal and others…

The city of Tahara is blessed with abundant nature and a mild climate. It has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters, September being the wettest month. August is the hottest month, reaching 27.5°C, and January the coldest, reaching 5°C.

Tahara, the city of manufacturing and renewable energy industries with one of the largest coastal industrial parks in the Chubu region and many ports for commercial fishing. The Port of Mikawa has become a major port handling Japan’s second largest automobile export and export base to North America.

And the main industrial employer of Tahara city is Toyota Motor Corporation, from here many Toyota brand cars come out. Lexus bodywork, a sophisticated Toyota Motor brand, is produced here and the Toyota Celica was manufactured in Tahara from 1979 to 1999.

Tahara City strives to improve infrastructure so that companies can further increase the efficiency of business development.
