Ruins of Shijimizuka

Shijimizuka Park (蜆塚遺跡 / Shijimizuka Iseki) is an archaeological site that contains settlement remains from the Jomon period, about 4.000 to 3.000 years ago, located in the city of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture.

The Park was declared a National Historic Site and opened to the public as an archaeological park in 1984.

Archaeological excavations have been carried out four times since 1955, in addition, a lot of shells have been discovered in the same place, and hundreds of years of crustaceans, fish, animal bones and pieces of clay have been found.
