The Seven Waterfalls (Kawazu Nanadaru – 河津七滝) of Kawazu City in Shizuoka Prefecture is a tourist spot with seven magnificent waterfalls located on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula. The pure waters of the Kawazu River descend from the Amagiso mountain range and form the seven falls. There is a great trail that goes from one waterfall to another and is an easy one or two hour hike (depending on the person).
The waterfalls flow from the Kawazu River and their name ending with “daru”, which means barrel in Japanese, the 7 waterfalls are: Odaru Waterfall, Kanidaru Waterfall (Crab), Kamadaru Waterfall, Ebidaru Waterfall (Shrimp), Hebidaru Waterfall (Snake) , Deaidaru Waterfall and Shokeidaru Waterfall.
The valley and the waterfalls are registered in the Kawazu Nanadaru Geographical Site, where you can walk and enjoy nature, there are some statues along the trail that represent the heroine of the little story Izu no Odoriko and the Amagi Tunnel. The tallest waterfall is a splendor 30 meters high.
The limpid waters of the waterfalls and the rooted green plants that grow in them are unique.

It is a mighty waterfall that falls heavily from the top of a rock, as if flowing from a volcano. It is the second tallest waterfall among the seven, at 22 meters high and about 2 meters wide.
Shrimp Waterfall (Ebidaru)
The waterfall is so named because it resembles the tail of a shrimp. You can see this shape from above the suspension bridge, which is 5 meters high and about 3 meters wide.
Waterfall Snake (Hebidaru)
It is a waterfall that looks like snake scales, it was baptized as the snake waterfall, with a height of 3 meters and about 2 meters wide.
It is a waterfall with a white stream and the bronze statue of Izu, harmonize well with nature, creating the friendliness of Izu Odoriko. A famous waterfall, widely used in movie and soap opera sets, 10 meters high and about 7 meters wide.
Crab Waterfall (Kanidaru)
It is a waterfall with a beautiful contrast between the white and green stream that flows silently in a beautiful crab-like mountain stream, hence the name of Cachoeira do Caranguejo, 2 meters high, 1 meter and 15 meters long.
Two streams come together and form the flow of a waterfall that meet to form a strip of water 2 meters high and 2 meters wide.
The Odaru Waterfall is 30 meters high and about 7 meters wide. A hot spring rises next to the waterfalls and is used as an open-air bath (Onsen).
