Shirakura Gorge

Shirakura Gorge (白倉峡) is a popular gorge to go for a walk in summer, where we can walk for about 30 minutes on foot (about 1km) over bridges, streams and some beautiful waterfalls, located in the city of Hamamastu, Shizuoka.

The well-maintained, cemented trail, with the sound of the river flowing, takes you through large and small waterfalls.

An unexplored region where clear streams (tributary of the Tenryu River) create waterfalls and in November it is very famous for its autumn leaves.

In the second part of the trail you will find the Kanayama waterfall, a combination of two waterfalls with a combined height of 15 meters.

Walking a few meters along the trail we will find a small bridge from where we can see the Hakobuchi waterfall, a narrow waterfall measuring 15 meters.

And on the side of the red suspension bridge you will see the Hataoribuchi waterfall with its impressive 7-meter drop.

Takebuchi Waterfall is only 2 meters high and has a natural pool where you can dive in to cool off from the heat and enjoy a massage in the waterfall waters.

At the end of the trail you will reach the second parking lot, where there is also a bathroom. You can return the same way or return by the road.
