Thai woman arrested in Iga for drunk driving and fake license

On September 13, the Mie Police Station, Iga City arrested a 33-year-old Thai woman residing in Nara City on suspicion of using a false driver’s license and violating the Highway Traffic Law while driving while intoxicated.

She was arrested around 8 pm on the 8th of the same month, driving a mini-vehicle intoxicated and with a forged license.

According to the police station, the woman collided with an oncoming car, and alcohol above the standard value was detected.

In response to the investigation, the woman admitted to drinking and driving, but said the license is not fake, that she obtained her driver’s license after attending a driving school and taking a test.

Police are investigating details of how she acquired the counterfeit driver’s license.
