The missing English teacher in Japan was found dead

Teacher Alice Hodgkinson, 28, was reported missing on July 1 after not going to work in Tokyo.

Japanese authorities discovered Alice’s body on Wednesday. Nottinghamshire Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

The Foreign Office said it was supporting the family at this difficult time, Alice’s parents said the news of their daughter’s death had a strong impact on the family.

In one community they said: My daughter was an intelligent, thoughtful, adventurous young woman with a tremendous sense of humor.

The family also thanked and honored all the people, friends and family in the UK and Japan who helped in the efforts to find her. Thank you all.

Ms. Alice was working in Tokyo at Shane English School and lived in Yokohama.
