Toyota leads world sales for the first time in 5 years

Toyota Motor announced that the number of vehicles sold worldwide last year was around 9.52 million units, surpassing Volkswagen in Germany to become the world leader for the first time in five years.

In addition, Toyota’s domestic production last year was 2.922.605 units, down 14.4% from a year earlier.

Toyota claims to have maintained a production system of 3 million units, essential to guarantee employment and technical training, stating that it has not reduced the number of employees.
