Two 17-year-old Brazilian boys were arrested for attempting to import marijuana by international mail, both resident in Aichi Prefecture, one from Nishio and the other from Hekinan.

According to police, in September, the boy was suspected of violating the Marijuana Control Act and customs law when he attempted to smuggle around 29 grams of dehydrated marijuana from the UK by international mail with a terminal price of 170,000 yen for purposes of smuggling. Police searched the boy’s home and found scales and several plastic sachets, presuming he was trying to sell marijuana.

The other boy was also arrested for importing about 14 grams in October in a similar manner.

Marijuana was found by customs officials, they reported finding a suspicious package sent from the UK and examining it they found a black plastic envelope and inside it was dehydrated marijuana.
