Tokyo Customs announced on the 31st that it had arrested two twenty-something Brazilian brothers living in Aichi Prefecture on suspicion of violating customs law and the drug control law, smuggling about 1.9 kg of cocaine into the false bottom. of a suitcase from Brazil to Japan by passenger plane last November.

The suspects were arrested: 28-year-old Kushiyama Kaiki Masahalo, resident in Takahama City, and younger brother Kushiyama Mateus Yuji, 23, resident in Toyohashi City.

Customs officials believe the two may have been hired as “carriers” by a Brazilian criminal organization. As foreigners continue to be barred from entering the country due to the crown, Japanese people and foreigners living in Japan are expected to be more likely to be invited by criminal organizations.
