Two Vietnamese who live in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, were accused of violating customs law for trying to smuggle synthetic drugs like MDMA through international mail.

According to customs investigations, in January the two attempted to smuggle around 3,000 pills of hallucinating MDMA and 300 grams of ketamine from the Netherlands for sale worth 15 million yen.

The two Vietnamese accused of smuggling are 25-year-old Fam Hook Vinh (ファム・フック・ヴィン) and 28-year-old Nguyen Van Chin (とグェン・ヴァン・チン).

A cardboard box sent by international mail from the Netherlands to Fam containing a bag of coffee beans mixed with MDMA was confiscated by customs officials.

According to the Kinki Regional Bureau of Drug Control, Health and Welfare, Fam admits to the allegations. However, Nguyen is silent.
