Yoro District (養老) is located in Gifu Prefecture, with an area of 72.29 square kilometers.
The area around Yoro was part of the traditional province of Mino. With the post-Meiji cadastral restoration reforms, Yoro District was established in April 1897. Yoro merged with Takeda and the villages of Hirohata, Kamitado, Ikebe, Kasago, Kobata, Tado, Hiyoshi, and Aihara in 1954.
The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and mild winters. September is considered the wettest month. Temperatures are highest in August reaching 27.7°C, and the lowest in January reaching 4°C.
