On the 15th, the Police Investigation Division of Gifu Prefecture, Kaizu City arrested a foreign language teacher, Habic Benjamin Joel (43 years old). Joel is an English teacher at an elementary school and lives in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture.
According to the police, Joel posted a video on SNS on the first day saying, “Tomorrow, I will go to an elementary school in Kaizu, Gifu Prefecture, and I will stab and kill all the children.”
Joel has been teaching English at seven elementary schools in the city as ALT since January of this year. No problems in schools have been confirmed.
