Mount Ooda Viewpoint in Okazaki City

Mount Ooda is the highest mountain in the region, standing 262 meters above sea level, and from its viewpoint one can enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Nukata, Mount Kazagashira, Mount Hongu, the Torikawa mountain range, Mount Atago, and Mount Kyogamine.

The name ” Mount Ooda” comes from the local word “ootaeru,” which means “to look up.”

The trail is well-maintained and takes about 30 minutes to reach the top (1,580 meters). Up there, there’s a small cabin with a notebook for tourists to leave a comment about their visit, and several decorative plaques and photographs on the walls.

Route 1 is longer and easier, less tiring.

Rest areas along the route

Route 2 is shorter, with stairs that are sometimes steep, making it more tiring.
