Owariasahi (尾張旭市) is a city located in Aichi Prefecture with a total area of 21.03 km². Owariasahi’s population is 83.910, including about 1.470 foreign nationals, 375 Koreans, 310 Chinese, 12 Americans and another (data from City Hall).
In July 1906, three villages merged to form Asahi Village, Asahi Village was proclaimed city in August 1948. But to avoid confusion with Asahi City in Chiba Prefecture, Asahi City in Aichi Prefecture, received a new status on December 1, 1970 under the name Owariasahi.
The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. September is the rainiest month. Temperatures are highest in August at around 28°C, and lowest in January at around 4°C.
