Utsumi Beach is known for its shallow waters and white sand, stretching for two kilometers in an arc shape, and is one of the largest and most popular beaches in the town of Minamichita, in the Chita region of Aichi Prefecture.

Thanks to its shallow, calm waters, the beach is packed with swimmers every summer; it is very popular among young people and becomes a trendy hotspot during July and August. It gets extremely crowded on weekends, especially with foreigner’s beachgoers, who make up more than 60% of the visitors. Due to the large crowds on Saturdays and Sundays, the Minamichita Center provides lifeguards.

However, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, I recommend going Monday through Friday, when the beach is less crowded (although there is no lifeguard service on those days).

During the season, there are several rental spots along the beach offering items such as floats, mats, beach chairs, and umbrellas. There are also restrooms, hot showers, changing rooms, and kiosks, making the location pleasant for all beachgoers.

The beach also features a beach volleyball court and a barbecue area (available on weekends), in addition to being a popular spot for jet-skiing and fishing.

A foreigner caught our attention with these two beautiful sculptures; they are truly charming, and we simply had to share them with you.

This beach is known for its calm waters, but on windy days, waves appear, attracting many surfers.

At dusk, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets on Ise Bay. It is also common to see people arriving at the beach at the end of the day to take photos or simply strolling along the sand while watching the sunset.
