Toyohashi Municipal Housing
Public housing for low-income individuals. For those who will live there, certain restrictions are imposed based on the Toyohashi Municipal Public Housing Law and others.
The vacancies are intended for families, single mothers or fathers, divorced or widowed individuals, senior citizens, and people with disabilities who are already registered as residents of the city.
Single mothers or fathers, or those who are divorced or widowed with low incomes, are given preference.
In some regions, the positions are highly competitive and selection is done by lottery.
In general, approval is based on each family’s income. Income criteria vary according to the cost of living in each locality. The rental amount is determined each fiscal year and depends on the income of each family member.
As with private properties, a security deposit (key money) is also required, equivalent to two to three months’ rent, as well as brokerage and contract renewal fees. A guarantor is also necessary.
