Vietnamese woman tried to smuggle drug valued at 177 million yen

A Vietnamese woman was arrested for trying to smuggle a stimulant worth over 100 million yen, about 3 kg of stimulants worth 177 million yen, from India on the 6th hidden in a shampoo container.

According to Tokyo Customs, it was discovered when a customs official at Narita Airport suspected Nguyen’s luggage, performed an X-ray inspection.

53-year-old Vietnamese, Nguyen Thay Chuen (グエン・テイ・チユエン), said: I bought it at a supermarket in India that I visited on my tour and didn’t know it contained stimulants.  The seized stimulant was hidden in an aluminum pouch containing bottles of shampoo, soap and cereal.
