Every year, when spring arrives (late March to early April), around 1.000 cherry trees planted on both banks of the Arako River are in full bloom.
The 2.5 km long row of cherry trees dyes the surface of the river in pink and the cherry tree tunnel, which stretches for about 1 km, is not to be missed.
Arakogawa Park is an urban green botanical garden opened in 1979 in Nagoya City and is the 11th most popular cherry blossom viewing spot in Aichi Prefecture. In this cherry blossom season, around 60.000 people come to stroll in the park and around the Arako River.
At night the incredible lighting starts from 18:00 and goes until 21:00 hours.
