Brazilian arrested in Hamamatsu for running over a student at a crosswalk and running away

Police arrested a Brazilian man on the morning of the 14th in a hit-and-run case in which a university student was injured by a car when crossing the crosswalk without a traffic light on 257th Street in the city of Hamamatsu at around 6:00 a.m. day 12.

A 62-year-old Brazilian part-time worker was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving causing injury and fleeing the scene.

Police have not released the man’s identity and are investigating the circumstances at the time.
