Kamoe Kannon Temple (鴨江観音) is an ancient temple that has a tradition of Kannon-do construction, dating back over 1,000 years, located in the city of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka.

The temple is dedicated to the chief priests, the Holy Kannon Bosatsu, Zenkoji Nyorai and Seitoku Taishi.

The original building was destroyed by the fire of Hidekichi Toyomi in 1608, but in 1616 thanks to Tokugawa Ieyasu the temple was rebuilt. It was destroyed once more in an air raid in 1947, although it was quickly rebuilt in 1959. Renovations in 1987 led to the current temple we see today.

The original building is made entirely of wood, painted in bright red, dedicated to Kannon, the female embodiment of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the one who has attained enlightenment and watches over everyone with pity.
